Monster Island is the name of The Asylum’s 2019 mockbuster. It was published ironically around the same time that Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Monster Island is a story about Monster Island. It is where a monster can sometimes be found.


This film, which is about an asylum has a budget similar to that of a large kid’s meal. The film makes efficient use of its resources by focusing only on human characters and keeping big names in one location so they can film all (check here) of their scenes within a single lunch hour. The Asylum may not do an awful job considering that it is a work in kaiju.
